Goldfields TVET College, under the authority of the Minister of Higher Education and Training, was established in terms of Chapter 2 of Continuing Education and Training Act, Act No 16 of 2006 hereby invites members of the public to serve in its College Council for a period of 5 years.
Interested persons must have an understanding of a post-school education and training system that is geared to contributing to eradicating the legacy of apartheid and knowledge and understanding of the legislation governing the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Sector e.g. National Development Plan (NDP), Continuing Education and Training (CET) Act of 2006 (as amended) Post-School Education and Training (PSET), Quality Council for Trades and Occupations, as well as competencies in the following areas: BUSINESS/FINANCE, HUMAN RESOURCES and LEGAL SKILLS.
The Act further requires Council to appoint a DONOR, who will advise on how to source donor funding to meet college developmental needs.
Candidates must be independent thinkers, have integrity and be able to provide strategic direction to the College Council and the Minister.
Only nominations submitted according to the following criteria will be considered;
- Be in writing and signed by the nominator
- Contain names, addresses and contact details of the nominee and the nominator.
- Be accompanied by the Curriculum Vitae of the nominee, which must include certified copies of ID, educational qualifications as well as professional registrations.
- Be accompanied by the written confirmation from the nominee that he/she is prepared to serve as a college council member
