Welkom Campus – Business Studies

Welkom Campus is situated in the heart of the City and operates in a simulated working environment for Hospitality and Edu-care students. Students have access to vocational assessment tools which place them in the environment similar to that of hotels, restaurants and bars coupled with day care centres. The Campus boosts a fully furnished culinary kitchen, restaurant, a bar and an executive bedchamber where hospitality students are able to embark on job shadowing during their studies.

Future prospects for Welkom Campus are that it re-establishes its culinary restaurant as a centre where students who are enrolled for hospitality management can sporadically embark on formal business. Students will cook and sell food to the public including the College personnel and the students. In turn, students will hopefully learn entrepreneurial skills and perhaps open their own restaurants and/or take up any form of business in the hospitality industry.

Welkom Campus enrolls about 4500 students on annual basis for both National Certificate Vocational NC(V) and Report 191.
