| Requirements | REQUIREMENTS: A BCom Degree/Honours in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Auditing. • C.A (SA), CIA, CISA and related professional qualifications • Ten plus (10+) years of Senior Management experience in the areas of Risk, Audit, Governance, Finance, Forensics and/or Economics • At least two years' experience as a member of an Audit and Risk Committee or Executive Council • An understanding of applicable Finance/Accounting practices; Risk Management practices; internal controls; legislatives requirements; and accounting and audit practices applicable to the public sector. |
| Duties | The Audit and Risk Committee will be required to perform duties as listed in Section 76 and 77 of the PFMA, National Treasury Regulations and the College Audit and Risk Committee Charter which includes amongst others: • Overseeing the function of Internal Audit • Providing oversight on IT Governance in relation to risk to ensure effectiveness and efficiency • Providing oversight on compliance with the CET Act, PFMA and other related legislation applicable to the college. • Reviewing the effectiveness of internal controls and advising management and college council • • Recommending and advising on best practices and interventions Reviewing annual financial statements recommending to council for approval • Reporting to College Council on regular basis |
| Term of Office and Remuneration | • The term of office for members of the Audit and Risk Committee linked to the term of College Council. • The remuneration of the members of the Audit and Risk Committee is determined by the policy of the College. |
