The Message From Chairperson of the Council

It is my honour and privilege to welcome you to the family of Goldfields TVET College especially, those students that will be in the first year of study with us.  Please at all time remember these words by Mao Tse-Tung, that the world is yours, as well as ours, but in the last analysis, its yours. You young people, full of vigour and vitality are in the bloom of life, like the sun at eight or nine in the morning.

Students will be immersed in an active education that will challenge their assumptions, interrogate their ways of conducting business and introduce them to innovative and unexpected ways of thinking. You will be prepared to achieved the next step in your career and life. We also assisted you to unleash the potential in you in demonstrating leadership skills among your peers. Most IMPORTANTLY, you will return to you society with fresh ideas, new business skills and a greater capacity for addressing the challenges which face your comminuty, family and our country.

The co-operative power of strong administrative leadership and support and the devotion of College management, staff, students and alumni consistently propel its progress and proud achievements forward.

The Council is committed to continue shining in 4 key are:

  • Academic excellence,
  • Research and innovation,
  • Diversity,
  • Good and ethical governance

The mandate of the college as the institution of choice, is to enhance the well-being and quality of life of South African citizens. My passion is the success of our students. I am always so proud to see how young people grow and mature reading themselves to tackle and change the current triple challenges face our country.

Our goal is to provide a state of the art academic institution, within a friendly, caring community. Our concern is the pursuit of each student’s academic excellence. We seek to develop the love and enjoyment of learning, as well as the intellectual curiosity that inspires it.

Its important to realised that, you have just started the process of empowering yourself, through your studies, to become the best that you can be. We embrace you as part of our family and we are looking forward to assist you in your journey of life-long learning.

It is my firm belief that education finally leads to a higher level of awareness, societal commitment, resource utilization, land to land transfer of knowledge and the creation of better and diverse career opportunities for students and scholars. That is, education is fundamental in shaping holistic and socially conscious citizens, who hold the power to shape more cohesive, inclusive and balanced societies.

As the council we will ensure that the key Principles of Good Governance in the Public Sector guides us;

  • Acting in the public interest,
  • A strong commitment to integrity,
  • Ethical values and the rules of law,
  • Openness and comprehensive stakeholder engagement and
